I think that from now on, this will be my favourite EDC. Why? Can you get a knife with better steel? Sure you can! It's only 440C here. Can you get a cheaper one? Sure you can. For about 80 Euro you pay here, there are plenty of options to go! Can you get a safer one? Sure! It's only a slipjoint here, no real locking! So why? Because here, we are talking about a beautifull knife, hand made in the center of europe, with great fit and finish. I was searching for simillar knife for quite some time, and honestly - all the blades I had from china had some issues. The centering issue to the degree that the blade hits the liner. They felt cheap in many different ways. And this one, does not. There is no blade play at all. It was sharp out of the box, but after few passes on the Spyderco sharpmaker, you can split hair or shave with it easily. The edge is sharpened on 20 degree from the factory. There are no sharp edges on the handle, or the pins, or the bolts. The blade is straight, and centered in the middle. Would i prefer a magnacut blade here? Sure! But this 440C received a real good heat treatment, and for the task of peeling apples, cutting fruits, or slicing cardboard boxes it will work just fine. This tool is just like a mechanical watch, in the quartz world. You can buy a cheaper, more accurate, piece from better materials. But this one has a soul :)
